Hurricane Florence made landfall earlier this morning. It will continue to drift westward across the Carolinas this weekend before exiting to the north early next week. The storm will gradually weaken over the region, though heavy rain will continue even after winds taper off. Soils will become saturated and flash flooding is likely to develop.

Heavy rain from Hurricane Florence and its later remnants will lead to flash flooding across much of the area. 6 to 10 inches of rain generally are expected, with isolated higher amounts, particularly along the east and south sides of mountain ridges, including the Blue Ridge Escarpment.

Life-threatening flash flooding may develop as heavy rain bands occur this weekend into early next week, especially where the rain falls on soils left saturated by earlier rainfall. Streams and creeks may rise quickly during heavy rain and flood nearby low-lying areas. Larger rivers eventually may rise to flood stage as well.

If you have reservations for this weekend please call the resort before attempting to travel.

What Guests are Saying About Foxhunt

“Nice, quiet, split level condo. Great price for the size of unit. After hours check in is easy and interesting – at local police/public safety office one mile away. Easy 10 minute drive to everything in Cashiers. Good tv’s, mattresses, kitchen, parking.” – Scott Anderson, Google, 5/4/2017

“- Nothing + An excellent place to stay for a nice family getaway. The townhouses are well stocked & we enjoyed a cozy fire in the fireplace at night. Lots of entertainment for the kiddos.” – Ddob, Booking.com, 5/4/2017

“The setting and room was very nice. Very spacious. I did not realize that this was a townhome where there was not any maid service, etc. Also, the Expedia directions for the check-in location were incorrect for late check-in. It took me a long time to find out that I needed to go to the Security office at The Village shopping center. But all in all it was a nice stay and I would stay there again.” – Ein(e) Reisende(r), Hotels.com, 4/24/2017
